The idea of BayenKitso
The word “BAYENKITSO” is a hybrid expression from Cameroonian Bassa’a “Ba yen” meaning “those who seek” and Setswana “Kitso” meaning “knowledge”. BAYENKITSO means “those who seek knowledge”.
BAYENKITSO Institute provide advisory and training support services for graduates intending to pursue postgraduate studies (Masters and PhDs), existing postgraduate students who might need extra support. Many graduates of higher degrees (specially PhDs) who do not already have jobs often and struggle with the question: What’s next? or now what?
Our services include preparing prospective postgraduate students to be entrepreneurial with research (in other words), we want to assist in developing innovation driven Entrepreneurs to help solve the wicked problems facing our continent (GradPreneurs). We help eliminate the fear that comes with knowing too much about fear. We aim to change the narrative on the risk aversion of higher degree holders which is one of the key contributors to their lack of entrepreneurship.
The concept of BayenKitso is underpinned by social entrepreneurship ideologies and seeks to create free, interactive and common learning platforms. This would lead to the establishment of a community and network of knowledge seekers across the continent who would use the knowledge acquired through higher education to bring about social justice.
Knowledge is at the heart of all of the ambition of safeguarding a place for Africa into the world that is at our door steps as a plain member contributing to the benefit of all. This new world is connected, is seeing artificial beings joining the ranks of the beings, and is leading us to gaze upon the stars not as an unreachable shore but rather as the next stop in the human journey.
We cherish an idea of Africans dignified for their generation, handling and application of knowledge from the highest possible level.
