Laban Bagui
Dr Laban Bagui serves as the team lead for the BAYENKITSO Institute, and he is responsible for Postgraduate mentoring programs and Postgraduate research supervisory support. Laban is a social entrepreneur, a development, cybersecurity and civic technology researcher, and an enthusiastic learning facilitator. He’s been a lecturer and a mentor to postgraduate students for many years. Laban believes that postgraduate studies, research and innovation, and entrepreneurship brought together constitute the key to unlock Africa’s transformative rise. Laban has worked for various industries including Higher Education, Internet Service Providers, Television broadcasting, and mobile software engineering. He holds a PhD in Information systems from UCT. His research interests include eParticipation, Cybersecurity in Africa, African e-Commerce entrepreneurship, and networked learning.
Moroesi Litheko
Moroesi Litheko is responsible for managing Community networking and Community/Market Research activities for BAYENKITSO Institute. She is a research director at a market research company called infoQuest and has a wealth of online market research under her belt. Moroesi believes that not only is research important for finding answers to the unknown, but also for improving already existing knowledge. In addition to her daily job she is a part time lecture at Boston Media House, supervising 4th year students. Moroesi is a research specialist holding a Master’s degree in Research Psychology from University of Witwatersrand. With 7 years of research experience she specializes in market research, academic research, health related research as well as social science research. Having worked for a poverty eradication mandated agency and higher education institution, Moroesi is passionate about the improvement of the South African education system for the empowerment of those that are less fortunate. She is a powerful force in her workplace, a hard worker and always full of energy.
Edward A.N. Dakora
Dr Dakora manages activities for research project ideation support and Research training and Postgraduate entrepreneurship and innovation. He is a transdisciplinary Educator, Researcher, and Mentor in High Education with a rear experience in establishing and managing a new School at a new University. An active education professional with a demonstrated history and skills in various sectors, including high education management, Nonprofit Organisations, and multi-stakeholder engagement. Edward believes in innovation and entrepreneurship as the way through which Africa’s development could be ushered out. His research work covers retail development in Africa, and Entrepreneurship development. Edward holds a doctorate in Marketing from CPUT.
Frank Makoza
Dr Frank Makoza is responsible for Administration and Research dissemination and publications at BAYENKITSO Institute. He has a background in Information Systems and many years of work experience from Telecommunications, Retail and Higher Education Sectors. Frank has developed business skills, self-determination and a strong sense of ethical business practices. He has mentored dozens of postgraduate and doctoral candidates. Franks holds that postgraduate studies and research fuel innovation, which in turn feeds entrepreneurship. Frank holds a PhD in Information Systems from UCT. His research interests are in assessing societal impact of ICT in context of developing countries (ICT4D).
